Our CEO & Chief VISA Consultant JOSEPH CHACKO  had a brilliant  career with AIR FRANCE for nearly 20 years. While in Calcutta (now Kolkata) from 1970 to 1980 he helped a lot of Malayalee Nurses and their families in Calcutta and nearby areas to migrate to the United States.

In the early seventies all that you needed was to go straight to the American Consulate with your Nursing Diploma and the visa was processed in about 3 months! Those days there were hardly any Malayalee in USA to sponsor your trip. RBI released foreign exchange on re-patriation basis on P-Forms for your initial expenses in the US. Subsequently, the Consulate introduced basic English Language Test in their office itself for accepting Nurse Petitions. By 1977 it was made compulsory to file all Nurse Petitions in the US only.

Those very few whose visa petition was approved but processing was stopped due to the changed Policy were in a very traumatic situation. Most of them finally got their visas processed through consultation by Joseph Chacko.

In January 1981 Joseph Chacko was transferred to AIR FRANCE, Madras, where he Continued with his US Visa Consultation in a bigger scale, on condition that those who got VISAs must travel on AIR FRANCE!

AMERICAN PASSAGES

On quitting AIR FRANCE in 1989, JOSEPH CHACKO started a Visa Consultation Agency by the name "AMERICAN PASSAGES", operating from his Madras residence (then at 8/4 Kothari Road) to continue his services as a full-time profession. Even after starting TRAVISA, this Agency is still continuing as a proprietory concern.

In 2007 the residence was shifted to his own premises at: A-3/4 Gemini parsn Manere, (Opp to American Consulate). The new house was dedicated by our Chennai Diocesan Bishop DR. GEEVARGHESE MAR THEODOSIUS.

This is The new address for AMERICAN PASSAGES. TRAVISA TOURS & TRAVELS is a partnership Firm working as Agents for AMERICAN PASSAGES for US Visas only. TRAVISA also doing UK, Canada and all other country Visas, Passport services, domestic and international air tickets and all allied travel agency services.
